7 Properties of Gift Boxes Printing Substrates!
In gravure printing, when printing Gift Boxes printing substrates, attention should be paid to the film's surface tension, heat shrinkage, surface smoothness, deformation, high temperature resistance and solvent solubility of the film. The control of these characteristics is an important factor affecting the quality of film printing.
The following are the printability of several films:
1. BOPP
For the most common Gift Boxes printing substrates, pay attention to surface tension, heat shrinkage and surface smoothness, and there should be no fine pits, otherwise it will affect the shallow screen part, the printing tension and embossing force are moderate, and the drying temperature is lower than 80 ℃.
2. BOPET
Because PET is usually thin, 12μm, it is easy to wrinkle, requires a large tension during printing, and has a certain selectivity for ink. It is best to use special ink, which is easy to peel off with general printing ink, and the film has high static electricity and is prone to blockage. plate, fuzz and scraper marks (knife wire). In addition, it is beneficial to have high humidity in the workshop during printing, and it can withstand higher drying temperatures.
3. BOPA
The biggest feature of BOPA film is that it is easy to absorb moisture and deform. It is necessary to grasp this key point when printing.
(1). The size of BOPA will change after moisture absorption, so it should be unpacked and used, and the remaining film should be used to seal the moisture-proof packaging immediately.
(2). In production, one to two colors can be preheated and dehumidified, and the temperature is 60~90℃.
(3). It is best not to print nylon film when the relative ambient temperature is greater than 85%.
(4). The printed BOPA should be immediately transferred to the next process for compounding. If the country cannot compound it immediately, it must be sealed and packaged. The storage time is generally not more than 24 hours, and it is best to store it in a compound heating room.
(5). Printing tension and printing pressure are appropriate.
4.K coating film
K-coated film printing points: Because the K-layer film is not very uniform in thickness, whether it is roller coating or spray coating, the surface is not smooth, and the PVDC is rigid and brittle, so the printing tension and printing pressure cannot be too high during printing. Large, overprinting is difficult, ink transfer is poor, and when printing shallow screen plates, it is easy to have dots (part of the dots are lost), and a higher hardness roller should be used for printing. In addition, it is selective to the solvent. When the solvent is used improperly, the layer may be dissolved. The residual amount of solvent in the printed film is large, and it is easy to stick. Therefore, special attention should be paid to drying and cooling.
5. Matte film
The printing of the matte film can be printed in the glossy surface by the OPP process, but because the matte layer on the surface cannot withstand high temperature, the drying temperature needs to be controlled.
6. Pearlescent film
The pearlescent film is printed with surface printing ink, and the printing ink with good transparency should be used as much as possible. When printing the heat shrinkable film, a very low drying temperature should be used, and a special heat shrinkable ink should be selected (the printed ink should be able to shrink under heat without falling off). If the PVC heat shrinkable film is used, the solubility of the solvent to the film should also be considered.
7. CPP, CPE
When printing unstretched PP and PE films, the tension is very small, and the overprinting is difficult. The pattern design should fully consider the amount of printing deformation.
