Create Pink Paper Bags With Handles PDF files with PageMaker

With Pagemaker, you can create an advanced PDF file for easy directory navigation.

The first step;

1. First you must install Adobe's Page 6.5, which is a powerful tool for making PDFS! It is a document typesetting and editing tool for Adobe. Powerful, can be typeset to produce beautiful documents with pictures, which is suitable for large document typesetting printing production. Exporting PDF files is just one small branch of its many features. I'm going to take that out now and use it to make beautiful PDF files. At the same time, it must be noted that when installing PageMaker6.5, it must be in the option of custom installation,AcrobatDistiller is essential. The key to its function is to convert PS files to PDF files.

2. Then you must have a PostScript printer for PageMaker to use. The printer driver must include a PPD file. The PPD file provides information about the user's PostScript printer. Includes a list of fonts, paper sizes, screen optimizations, and resolution capabilities that come with the printer. This information is provided by the printer manufacturer and reflects the most common configuration of the device. If you do not have PPD file support, you must find the manufacturer to upgrade your printer program. After all this nonsense, think about it again and that friend is going to buy a PostScript printer? Not without a printer? Clearly there is a way! The solution is simple. (This is a shortcut that took me half a day to figure out!) You can install new hardware in windows98, just find a printer driver that supports PostScript, and install it in your system! You don't even need to have a printer!! But which printer supports PostScript? Tell you what! The KODAK series will do. (I use KODAKColorEasePSPrinter.)

The second step;

Okay, ready for step one, you can start making PDF files! In order to make the example simple and clear, I will not add too much text and pattern in the example. In fact, adding text patterns requires some familiarity with PageMaker, and it's not too complicated, just like any other typesetting program. I will focus on how to create a more complex file that contains multiple interfaces and can be navigated by creating directories.

1 Start PageMaker,file--new-- The following screen appears; This is the text page setup interface. Notice that I set the number of pages in the document to 5, and the start page code to 1. This is more important, when generating PDF files, the start page must be 1, so as not to cause coding confusion.

2. Then you can edit any document you want in the PageMaker editing interface. PageMaker's editing capabilities are so powerful that you can insert frames of any size anywhere on the page. And arbitrarily move to random positions. You can easily insert graphics, documents, links and even QuickTime animations in a variety of formats. How to bring PageMaker's power to life and make a beautiful document is entirely up to your art skills. I will not introduce the specific operation of PageMaker, and those who need it can consult the relevant instructions. Let me talk more specifically about our specific problem -- how to create text that contains a directory index. Now, for convenience, we have created a five-page document. The first page we've set aside as the directory boot page. Suppose we start editing the document on the second page. We first select the second page, use the area tool to draw a rectangular box, and then use the text input tool to locate in the box, enter the text 1LEVEL.

Then select the rectangle as a whole, copy one, and paste it on pages 3, 4, and 5. Finally, edit the text boxes separately to change to the corresponding title. After editing the title, you can insert various text, graphics and even animations you need in other places, depending on your personal preferences.

3. Next is the key to the whole cable catalog design!!! Our goal is to automatically generate a hyperlinked directory. Now let's set it up. First select type--paragraph to set the paragraph properties. Make sure to check the "Includeintableofcontents" section where you are pointing to allow it to be added to the directory (emphasis!). . Then we select type→definestyles to edit a paragraph style. You can design a new style according to your own requirements for the title paragraph, or you can edit a new style. The main thing is to make sure you select the paragraph option when you edit it, and also select "Includeintableofcontents". Finally, we need to select each header box in turn, making sure that after inserting the text editing input point in the header box, select type--style--" Style of paragraph you edited ". (I chose Handle uniformly for convenience.)

4. Now we can automatically generate the title directory! Select Utilities--CreateTOC(CreatetableofContent). Select properties for the directory in the following dialog box. You can define the name of the table of contents and the page number that does not need to indicate the title. We select Pagenumberafterentry and compile the page numberafter the directory entry. Select the first page and put the directory box in place. If all goes well, you should be able to see the following table of contents. Ok, that's all for editing, remember to file! You can take a break, take a sip of water, and then move on to the next section to complete the output PDF file.

The third step;

It's done! Before the output of PDF text, you can set the properties of the printer, which will not be introduced in detail. Select file→export--adobePDF and you will see the following dialog box; Here you can set PDF file properties and output control, the options are relatively simple, mostly and font, control and print page properties, you can set according to their preferences. We select includedownloadablefonts to allow the downloaded fonts to be included. Select distillnow for immediate conversion.

Select viewPDFusing to specify what to use to open the generated PDF text. Here we set it to adobeacrobat4.0. After setting it, click export to start the conversion. PageMaker will automatically convert the edited pages into postscript PS files, and then start distiller to convert PS files into PDF files, and then automatically open the generated PDF files to browse. You can see the effect of the generated file. A PDF text with a complete directory index is generated. Click on the directory in the lead window or browse window, and the 1level will be linked to the corresponding 2 pages!! 1, 2, 3! Convenient and fast, a more complex PDF text is done. How about it? Directory guide, full of functions, different!
