Introduction of offset paper used for lamination of Multi-layer Paper Box
In printing work, we sometimes use offset paper for laminating Multi-layer Paper Box. So today we will introduce the characteristics of this material and how to use it in detail:
The lamination of Multi-layer Paper Box is mainly to compound plastic film and paper together to become a high-grade product integrating paper and plastic, which improves the value and quality of paper. The paper used for lamination mainly includes offset paper, coated paper and white cardboard.
Offset paper is opaque in texture, small in stretch and smooth, and is a better printing paper. Offset paper is a paper for offset printing, mainly printing covers, pictorials, advertisements, trademarks, inserts, maps, posters, commodity packaging and the text of various books and periodicals. Offset paper is suitable for multi-color printing.
Offset paper is divided into double-sided offset paper and single-sided offset paper, and is further divided into flat paper (single sheet) and roll paper. The commonly used weights of double-sided offset paper are 70, 80, 90, 100, 120g/m2, and the commonly used weights of single-sided offset paper are 50, 60, 70, 80g/m2, and the moisture content is 4% to 9%. 500 sheets of flat-bed offset paper are one ream, and the weight of each ream is determined according to the paper weight and specifications.
According to the characteristics of offset printing, the quality and printing suitability of offset paper should meet the following requirements:
(1) The paper surface has high strength and good water resistance. Offset printing has a large tensile force on the paper, requiring high surface strength and tight texture of the paper. Insufficient paper strength, paper fibers and fillers will stick to the surface of the blanket cylinder during the embossing process, resulting in poor print quality and blanket sticking. Offset printing has a wetting system that requires a certain degree of water resistance on the surface of the paper.
(2) The shrinkage rate of the paper is small and the stiffness is large. Paper stretch refers to the rate of dimensional change after wetting and drying. The large expansion ratio not only affects the accuracy of multi-color overprinting, but also affects the quality of lamination. The offset printing ink has a high viscosity, and if the paper stiffness is not large enough, the printed paper is not easy to separate from the blanket cylinder.
(3) The paper surface is smooth and the ink absorption should not be too high. The surface of the offset paper is uneven and the fiber distribution is uneven, which will cause the imprint of the image and text to be weak and indistinct. The ink absorption of offset paper is too high, the binder in the ink quickly penetrates into the paper, and the pigment particles are deposited on the paper surface, causing quality problems such as weak imprinting, through-printing, and dull gloss. Offset printing ink mainly relies on oxidative polymerization conjunctiva, which wraps the pigment particles and dries, and only a small part is absorbed and dried by the paper.
(4) The appearance of the paper is neat and the texture is tight. There should be no wrinkles, streaks, spots, light transmission points, cracks, holes, sand, impurities, etc. on the appearance of the paper, the texture is tight, the whiteness is uniform, and the sizing and calendering quality are good.
