The difference between solid color overprinting and transparent overprinting in Illustrator for Food Boxes
1 Solid color overprint
When the upper layer graphics overlap the lower layer graphics, press the "Real Color Overprint" button to mix the colors of the upper and lower graphics. The mixed color is calculated in the following way:
C1> C2, C mixed = C1
M1 <M2, M mixed = M2
Y1> Y2, Y mixed = Y1
K1 <K2, K mix = K2
2 Transparent Overprint
This command can change the color that overlaps the upper layer into a translucent color with a certain degree of transparency. Transparency can be set in the "Transparent Overprint Options" dialog box.
3 trap
trap is a term in the printing industry. In four-color overprinting, due to factors such as the accuracy of the operation and the moisture shrinkage and deformation of the paper, the color overprinting is not aligned, and white edges are leaked. To avoid leakage, use "traps" to make up for it.
In the "Pathfinder Trap" dialog box, you can use the default value. It is best to study the required values in the dialog box with the commissioned printer before setting.
