Greeting cards in our country has a long history of use, in ancient times, the literati and officialdom have the custom of greeting each other by name card. Zhou Hui, a song dynasty native, wrote in Qingbo magazine: "during the Year of song and Yuan You, servants were often used to send messages on behalf of the emperor on New Year's Day. "

The account is based on an interesting story: a year in the capital, a scholar did not want each household to visit in person, so he came up with a lazy idea. He first wrote many cards of blessing, and then told his servant to place a card at the door of each house he visited, he knocks on the door and leaves before it opens, so that the interviewee thinks he has come to visit. Perhaps this man had let the cat out of the bag again and again, and as soon as a family heard a knock at the door, they rushed out and caught the poor servant. This was seen as a "forgery" . [3] at that time, however, it took both time and energy to go around and greet people, so some friends did not go themselves, but sent their servants to take a piece of paper cut with plum blossom two-inch wide and three-inch long, a card bearing the name and address of the person to be congratulated and a message of congratulations will be sent to him/her on his/her behalf.
