Use to remove Thick Cardboard Gift Paper Boxes Photoshop printing scanning lines

When we scan the pictures in books, newspapers and magazines, we often find that the scanned pictures will have a network of lines, this phenomenon is called mesh. The reason for the mesh is that the pictures in books, newspapers and magazines are actually composed of many small ink color points, not the uniform color of the whole piece. This is especially obvious in newspapers, because newspapers do not need to print too beautifully in Shenzhen, so the network is particularly large. When these dots are scanned, they produce mesh, sometimes seriously affecting the quality of the scan.

In fact, there are some simple ways in Photoshop to eliminate the grain on the scanned image as much as possible. Below we introduce a few common methods, you can use as appropriate.

I. Despeckle method

Filter/Noise/Sespeckle is selected and Despeckle filter of Photoshop is used, which is the fastest and most convenient method for removing mesh.

Two, amplification and reduction method

Scan the image at a higher resolution and then use Photoshop to reduce the image to the desired size.

For example, the original picture was scanned by 200dpi, the size of the picture was 240x160, and the mesh was obvious. We scanned with 300dpi, and the size of the picture increased to 360x240. The picture is still slightly netted. Then do Image/ImageSize to shrink the image to 240x160 and set the ResampleImage parameter to Bicubic.

After the size of the picture, the mesh is almost completely eliminated, the color of the picture becomes quite flat, and the quality improves a lot.

This method works well, but there are limitations. For example, when scanning a small image, the resolution is usually already very high, so higher optical resolution cannot be used to sweep the image, which is not feasible.

Three, fuzzy method

Blurring works especially well with fine mesh. Execute Filter/Blur/GaussianBlur to set the degree of blur, but this method has a disadvantage, that is, the mesh is reduced, but the picture is also blurred, use caution.

4. SmartBlur Method

1. Run the Filter/Blur/SmartBlur command to set Radius to the lowest value and Threshold to the highest value.
2. Then slowly increase the Radius to the right (very slowly, or enter the value with the keyboard). At this time, the color of the picture seems to be gradually smoothed out.
3. Next, the Threshold will be reduced to the left. At this time, the picture will gradually recover clear, and when it is less than a degree, the mesh will emerge again.
