Application of resin gravure - curved surface, pad printing

Generally curved surfaces such as the face of a toy, curved protrusions such as calculator keyboards, curved depressions such as saucers or plates, other circular shapes such as golf balls, etc. The best way to print is to use pad printing. However, in the past, most of the plates for pad printing machines used copper plates or steel plates. There are many variables in the plate making process, and the quality control is not easy. The plate-making potion is toxic and affects the ecological environment. The molecular particles of the steel plate are very rough and cannot represent the finer parts of the image.

Germany BASF exclusively provides you with resin gravure, the plate is easy to wash with ordinary water, the resolution is as high as 300 dots or more, and the special resin composition can easily transfer the ink in the groove. The hard resin surface is scratch resistant to tens of thousands of brushes.

The plate making process of resin gravure:

Crop: The crop size must be 2 to 4 cm larger than the desired size to protect the edge areas of the image.

Punching: Punch holes according to the required number of holes after cutting.

Main exposure: The purpose of exposure is to harden the resin layer without images and lines due to exposure.

Plate washing: The part of the plate that has not been hardened by exposure will be dissolved and washed away during the plate washing process; the concave printed part is the image and lines on the negative.

Baking plate: The plate cleaning solution that penetrates into the print during plate washing will be evaporated during the plate baking process to restore sufficient hardness of the plate.

Post-exposure: No film required. The post-exposure treatment can increase the hardness and friction resistance of the plate.

BASF Germany offers several resin gravures to suit your printing needs. For example, there are two kinds of nyloprint and high-volume nylograv with different printing durability. nyloprint is suitable for simpler work, and there are three thicknesses for you to choose and adjust the amount of ink; such as WT 30, T 30, S 58W, S 73SW, S 73K, etc. nylograv is suitable for more delicate work, it is only available in one thickness WSA 52, ST 52Q, ST 52K.
