It plays a role in determining the color, level and image outline of the printing. Because the thickness of the printed page is expressed by the size of the dot, the dot of different size is commonly known as "into" in the process. Only by accurately understanding the concept of dot percentage can we better use dot to print the closest color to the original manuscript. The number of dots within 5% is identified according to the number of dots that can accommodate the same black dots in the gap between the opposite side. That is, in the gap between the two black dots on the opposite side, three black dots of the same size can be placed, that is, 1 percent of the dots; If in the distance between two points, can accommodate two points of the same size, called 20 points;

If 1.5 dots of the same size can be placed between the two dots, it is called 30% dots; If 1.25 dots of the same size can be accommodated between the two dots, it is called 40% dots; If a dot of the same size can be accommodated between the two dots, that is to say, the black dot and the white dot account for half of the unit area, that is, 50% of the dot. The identification of more than 50% of the points is measured by how many white points of the same size can be accommodated between the two white points on the opposite side.

From the point of view of the dot arrangement law, the number of dots contained in the spacing of two white dots is exactly 60% and 40% the same; 70% is the same as 30%; 80% is the same as 20%; 90% is the same as 1%.

The above situation shows that the so-called dot percentage is the percentage in the unit area. For example, 1 percent of the network is 10%, 2 becomes 20%, and so on, 100% is the field layout. The intermediate level shows the transitional parts of the picture, usually composed of 4 to 60 percent of the dots. The thick and dark picture composed of 7 to 9 percent of the network is a low-key level.

The brightest place on the printing surface, that is, the highlight part is less than 1 percent of the dot.
