What is HP Indigo electronic Ink Technology


HP Indigo Electronic Ink Technology, or HPElectroInk, is a unique liquid ink liquid EP that combines the advantages of digital printing with the quality of liquid ink. HPElectroInk is a type of charged pigmentation based particle suspended in a liquid. Similar to other digital printing technologies, i.e. dry EP or xerography, HPElectroInk electronically controls the position of the printed particle to enable digital printing. But unlike dry EP, HPElectroInk particles are very small, just one to two microns in size. HPElectroInk is supplied to customers in concentrated form and is loaded into printers in a "pollution-free" canister package. Inside the equipment, it is fully mixed and diluted with the image oil in the ink bed to form a mixture of the image oil and ink particles for printing.


HP Indigo electronic ink technology imaging principle


Firstly, the imaging board is uniformly charged, and then the laser head uses the laser beam to discharge on the imaging board according to the dot matrix format of the color after RIP. The point potential of the imaging board becomes zero, and the electronic ink of the color will be attached to the imaging area of the imaging board under the action of electric field force to form the image layer. The image layer is also transferred to the blanket by the potential difference between the imaging drum and the blanket drum. The electronic ink is partially dissolved after heating on the blanket, transferred to the substrate by pressure, and then cured and attached to the substrate. The imaging process for other colors is the same, and the color conversion technology is implemented on a set of rollers.
