Packaging machine has vertical and horizontal, vertical and continuous type (also called roller type) and intermittent (also called palm type), bag has three side sealing, four side sealing, back sealing, and a row of packaging equipment. There is a wide variety of packaging equipment and great differences among them. In the actual use of composite film coil, will encounter a variety of problems, this paper analyzes the causes of six common problems in detail, for reference.

 

First, the cursor problem

 

In the process of automatic packaging of composite film rolls, it is often necessary to carry out positioning thermal bonding and positioning cutting, and it is necessary to set an electric eye cursor for positioning. The size of the cursor, different packaging opportunities have certain differences. Generally, the width and length of the cursor must be larger than 2mm and 5mm respectively. The cursor is generally selected with a large contrast with the background color of dark, black is the best, generally can not use red and yellow as the cursor, also can not use the color of the same color as the photoelectric eye as the cursor color, such as photoelectric eye for green light, can not use light green color as the cursor color, because green photoelectric eye is not able to recognize green color. If the background color is a dark color (such as black, dark blue, dark purple, etc.), then the cursor should be designed to hollow out the light color of the cursor.

 

The electric eye system of the general automatic packaging machine is a simple recognition system, which cannot have the function of intelligent fixed length like the bag making machine. Therefore, in the longitudinal range of the electric eye cursor, the film rolling is not allowed to have any interfering text and pattern, otherwise it will cause identification errors. Of course, some sensitive eyes, their black and white balance can be adjusted precisely, for some light interference signals can be removed by adjusting, but the color and cursor or darker pattern interference signals are unable to remove.

 

The spacing between the cursor is used to determine the length, so the error between the actual spacing and the design value should not be too large, generally only 0.5mm error is allowed. For many automatic packaging equipment, negative deviation is better than positive deviation tracking effect, so it is recommended to design negative deviation.

 

Aluminized or pure aluminum has strong specular reflection, which will affect the recognition of electric eyes. It is recommended that the composite film cursor be printed with a white background. For transparent composite film, due to the color of the object in contact with it, it is also recommended to print the cursor on a white background, so as to reduce interference.

 

Second, the friction coefficient problem

The friction in the process of packaging is often both drag force and resistance, so its size should be controlled in an appropriate range. The coil used for automatic packaging is generally required to have a small inner friction coefficient and an appropriate outer friction coefficient. If the outer friction coefficient is too large, it will cause excessive resistance in the packaging process, resulting in material tensile deformation. If it is too small, it may cause the dragging mechanism to slip, resulting in electric eye tracking and incorrect cutting positioning. But the inner friction coefficient can not be too small, some packaging machine inner friction coefficient is too small, will cause the stacking instability during bag forming, produce wrong edge; For strip packaging composite film, the inner friction coefficient is too small may also cause the tablet or capsule to slip, resulting in inaccurate positioning of the material. The inner friction coefficient of the composite film mainly depends on the content of the opening agent and the smoothing agent of the inner material and the stiffness and smoothness of the film. The corona treatment, curing temperature and time in the production process will also affect the friction coefficient of the product. When studying the friction coefficient, special attention should be paid to the great influence of temperature on the friction coefficient, so it is necessary to measure not only the friction coefficient of packaging materials at room temperature, but also the friction coefficient at the actual use of the ambient temperature.

 

Three, heat sealing problem

 

Low temperature heat sealing is mainly determined by the performance of heat sealing layer resin, but also related to pressure, generally extrusion composite extrusion temperature is higher, corona treatment is too strong or film parking for too long will reduce the low temperature heat sealing performance of the material. Thermal viscosity is used to describe the strength of external peeling resistance of the melt surface of the hot sealing layer when it is not sufficiently cooled and solidified after hot sealing: this external force often occurs in automatic filling and packaging machines. Therefore, the composite film coil used for automatic packaging should choose the hot sealing material with good thermal viscosity. Anti-pollution heat sealing property, also known as the heat sealing property of inclusion contents, refers to the performance of heat sealing when the hot cover adheres to the contents or other pollutants. Composite film according to different things to be packaged, packaging machinery and different packaging conditions (temperature, speed, etc.) to choose different heat sealing resin, can not be uniformly used a heat sealing layer. For packages with poor heat resistance, low temperature heat sealing materials should be selected. For heavy packaging, hot sealing materials with high thermal sealing strength, high mechanical strength and good impact performance should be selected. For high-speed packaging machine, should choose low temperature heat sealing and heat viscosity high heat sealing material, for powder, liquid and other pollution strong products should choose good pollution resistance heat sealing material.

 

Four, hot sealing extrusion PE problem

PE composite film in the heat sealing process will often be extruded and glued to the heat sealing film, more and more affect the normal production, at the same time, the extrusion of PE in the heat sealing die oxidation smoke, odor. Hot sealing extrusion PE can generally be solved by reducing the heat sealing temperature and pressure, adjusting the formula of the heat sealing layer, modifying the heat sealing film to reduce the pressure on the edge and other methods. But practice has proved that the best solution is to use extrusion composite technology to produce composite film, or improve the speed of the packaging machine, so that PE can not be extruded to the hot seal film.

 

Five, heat sealing pressure penetration, pressure breaking problem

 

Penetration refers to the formation of a penetrating hole or crack caused by external extrusion of packaging materials. The causes are generally as follows:

 

① The heat sealing pressure is too large. In the process of heat sealing, if the heat sealing pressure is too large or the heat sealing mold is not parallel, the local pressure is too large, which will often wear through some more fragile packaging materials.

 

② The heat sealing die is rough, with edges and corners or foreign bodies. Bad manufacturing of new heat sealing die often crush packaging materials, some heat sealing die after bruizing sharp edges and corners, but also easy to crush through packaging materials.

 

③ The thickness of packaging materials is not chosen correctly. Some packaging machines have requirements on the thickness of packaging materials. If the thickness is too large, some parts of the packaging bag may be crushed through. Such as pillow type packaging machine, the thickness of the packaging material should not be greater than 60um, if the packaging material is too thick, it is easy to break the sealing part of the pillow type packaging.

 

(4) The structure of packaging materials is not right. Some packaging materials have poor compression performance and cannot be used to pack some hard angular things.

 

⑤ Improper mold design of packaging. In the design process, if the mold hole of the hot sealing die is inconsistent with the shape and size of the package, and the mechanical strength of the packaging material is not high, it is easy to press through or fracture the packaging material in the process of packaging.

 

Six, heat sealing leakage sealing problem

 

Leakage sealing is due to the existence of some factors, so that the parts that should be fused by heating and melting are not sealed. There are generally several reasons for missing seals:

 

① The heat sealing temperature is not enough. The same packaging material requires different heat sealing temperatures in different parts, different packaging speeds require different heat sealing temperatures, and different packaging ambient temperatures require different heat sealing temperatures. Packaging equipment vertical sealing and horizontal sealing requirements of the heat sealing temperature is different, the same piece of heat sealing die, different parts of the temperature may also be different, these are must be considered in the packaging. For heat sealing equipment, there is also a problem of temperature control accuracy. At present, the temperature control accuracy of domestic packaging equipment is poor, which generally has a deviation of 10~C. That is to say, if we control the temperature of 140%, in fact, the temperature in the packaging process is between 130-150~C. Many companies use random sampling in the finished product to check the air tightness, which is not a good method. The most reliable method is to sample at the lowest temperature point in the range of temperature, and should be taken continuously, so that the sample can cover all parts of the mold vertical and horizontal.

 

② The sealing part is contaminated. In the filling process of packaging, the sealing position of packaging materials is often polluted by packaging, and pollution is generally divided into liquid pollution and dust pollution. The problem of contaminated sealing parts can be solved by improving packaging equipment and using anti-pollution and anti-static heat sealing materials.

 

③ Equipment and operation problems. If there are foreign bodies in the hot sealing clamp, the hot sealing pressure is not enough, the hot sealing die is not parallel, etc.

 

④ The problem of packing materials. Such as corona over the surface, too much heat sealing agent caused by heat sealing bad.
