First, the RGB graph is not converted to CMYK

Consequences: Most software (FreeHand,Pagemaker, etc.) will not separate RGB images, if the RGB image is misused, the resulting color separation film will either only have the image on the black plate, and the rest of the color map will be empty, or there will be equivalent gray images on four color plates.

 

Solution: If you use a scanner that supports direct scanning CYMK, it is best to scan four-color files directly; If you only get RGB, don't forget to convert RGB to CYMK before output.

 

Secret: It is difficult to tell whether it is RGB or CYMK from the file name or file icon, and it is too troublesome to open one by one. For TIFF images, you can make a judgment by looking at the preview color of the image in the typesetting or composition software: CYMK's TIFF images are more vivid and unnatural, and RGB's are more natural colors. As for the EPS chart, it is difficult to distinguish from the pre-view, and can only be checked one by one in the case of insecurity.

 

2. Use Heavy font in FreeHand and Bold font in PageMaker.

Consequences: If the Chinese font in FreeHand is Heavy, the characters will be blurred in most cases; If Bold is used in a Chinese font in PageMaker, it will always be an overlapping word with teeth, and other font effects in PageMaker will also be problematic.

Solution: Try to avoid using the above effects. If the font needs to be bolded, the corresponding bold Chinese text should be selected, such as bold song typeface or large black font. If there is no corresponding bold font, it can be done in FreeHand with Fill and Stroke, but there is an empirical formula that the added edge should not exceed 3% of the original font size. If the font itself is bold, the proportion should be smaller.

 

Three, FreeHand in the wrong Fill and Stroke (fill pre-word edge)

Consequences: Fill and Stroke can be used to make the font bold, or to make the word have different colored edges. However, improper use can cause the word to paste, or the word edge is too thick, and the color of the word itself is crowded out.

Solution: The word margin should not exceed 3% of the original font size.

 

Four, black imprinting with gray mesh

Consequences: Tell the output center to pay attention to whether there is gray mesh in the file before the black plate is imprinted. Because if there is a gray net, then the objects under the gray net will come through. Other imprints specified in the file should also be noted, because the current version of the software cannot see which objects are overimprinted.

Solution: Be careful not to fall into a trap when doing the work.

 

Tip: When defining grey, add 1% yellow!

 

Five, the wrong use of EPS belt net

Consequence: 175 lines of output, but some chart lines count wrong.

 

Solution: When saving images in EPS format, be careful not to select with screen information. At the same time, also pay attention to other options In some cases, the use of EPS mesh function can achieve some special requirements, such as line mesh effect or in the same layout deliberately using different network cables to achieve special results.

 

Secret: The image is stored in EPS color separation format, which can greatly improve the output speed.

 

Six, the wrong DCS format

Consequences: 1, black and white print has a picture, but there is no picture on the output

Solution: It is very convenient to scale the image in the typesetting software, but the cost is multiplied or several times the output time, so be sure to set the size and resolution in the image processing software (PHOTOSHOP), and then put into the typesetting software; And for tables, PAGEMAKER or QuarkXPree,

 

These software itself has a very good indentation and positioning function, can make a very professional and very neat table. As for the header, it should be set in the row.

 

Nine, no English font

Consequences: The output font is replaced by the system font, go back to get another trip

Solution: There are now more than 10,000 English fonts used by computers, so don't expect the output center to have the English words you need. So call the output center to confirm, if the output center is not, it will take the font to the output center.

 

10. Misusing "PATTERN"

Consequence: FREEHAND has a pattern fill that can be filled with regular patterns within a certain graph range. This type of pattern is dot matrix, the earlier equipped with LEVEII RIP phototypesetters do not support this type of filled output, LEVEII II phototypesetters can output. But one thing to note is that you should not think of it as setting the color outside the field. If you try to set a light color of c10% y10%, although it is displayed on the screen, the output must be cy 100% dark green!

 

Solution: Unless you don't use it

Secret: Print it out on the printer, scan it as a binary TIFF, and then color it into FREEHAND.
