The method to guarantee the uniform color pattern and color space of Flat Cigar Paper Boxes
The printing process of Flat Cigar Paper Boxes is actually the process of transferring the image information of the original manuscript among various printing input and output devices. How to achieve the maximum compatibility and consistency of the information of input and output from the original manuscript information among printing input and output devices? That is to ensure that the information transmission is as accurate as possible, to achieve the best copy of the true manuscript.
In order to copy Flat Cigar Paper Boxes, color separation must be carried out first. The current color separation technology has developed from the traditional photographic color separation and electronic color separation to the present desktop publishing system.
The process of color printing and printing in desktop publishing system is essentially the process of color restoration through the conversion and transmission of the original text and text color information in various devices and different color Spaces. The reproduction of color depends on the device that produces it, but in the integrated environment of desktop publishing system, because each device has different color gamut and color characteristics, it is particularly difficult to precisely control and transfer the graphic color information in the desktop publishing system. This is the ultimate goal of the original copy. To achieve this goal, effective color management independent of equipment must be implemented in the desktop publishing system, to ensure the compatibility of signal input and output between devices, and to reduce and make up for the influence of different color characteristics and color patterns of devices on color information. Thus, the color distortion is minimized when the graphic and text color data information is transferred between different color Spaces and devices with different color characteristics, so as to ensure that the effect of the color of the same picture from input to display to output is matched as far as possible, so as to achieve harmony between the copy and the original color.
In order to do well the color management in desktop publishing system, the key is to deal with the unified color space, device system characterization and color conversion.
Ensure the unity of color pattern and color space
In desktop publishing system, color restoration usually involves RGB, CMYK and Lab three color modes. RGB is the color mode of color light. It consists of three channels: red, green and blue. In this mode, all the other colors are superimposed by the three primary colors. Since each of the three colors has 256 brightness levels, a three-color overlay can create 16.7 million colors. In desktop publishing systems, input and display devices such as scanners, digital cameras and monitors all rely on this mode to express colors. When sunlight hits an object, it absorbs some of the light and reflects the rest. The reflected light is the color of the object as we see it, a subtractive pattern. Depending on this subtractive way, the CMYK mode suitable for printing and printing has evolved. Because in practice these three colors of ink is difficult to superimpose the real black, so in printing, printing and the introduction of black to strengthen the dark tone, deepen the dark color. Although this color mode defines much fewer colors than RGB defines, that is, the color space is much smaller, but the desktop color prepress system of the imagesetter, printer, printer and other output devices rely on this mode to reproduce colors. Lab model is a color model developed by CIE (International Commission on Lighting). Any color in nature can be expressed in Lab space, and its color space is larger than RGB space. In addition, this mode describes human visual perception in a digital way, independent of the device, so it makes up for the shortage that RGB and CMYK modes must rely on the color characteristics of the device.
The color space of Lab is larger than that of RGB mode and CMYK mode. This means that color information described by RGB and CMYK can be reflected in Lab space. Therefore, in the color management of the desktop publishing system, if all the color conversion and color correction operations are completed based on the Lab space, the color data will not be biased due to insufficient data when converting from Lab space to RGB or CMYK space. Thus, in color management, to unify the color space, the Lab mode, which is independent of equipment and has a large color space, should be taken as the benchmark.
To sum up, in the process of prepress production, we should store the color information obtained by scanners and digital cameras working in RGB mode in Lab mode, and carry out color editing and correction in Lab color space, and then transfer it to CMYK space for printing or output. This is the best color treatment. Because printers and phototypesetters use CMYK mode to express colors, many operators are used to editing and correcting colors in CMYK space in actual operation. This practice is not advisable because it causes color loss, and operating in CMYK also slows down computing from the computer.
