The Silent movement approaches Laboratory Notebooks Paper Photoshop Effects (2)

Image watercolor, oil painting effect

Sometimes I want to paste a few works of art in my room, such as watercolor paintings, oil paintings, etc., but I can't paint, and it is too expensive to buy! What to do? Think about it, or use Photoshop to make a picture of it, absolutely can achieve the real effect oh!

★ Watercolor effect ★

1, first open an image file that you want to make into a watercolor painting.

2, run the "Filter/Blur/Special Blur" command, the "Special Blur" dialog box is displayed, set the radius to 30, the threshold to 50, select the quality to "Medium", the mode to "Normal", and click the "OK" button.

3, execute the "Filter/Art effect/Watercolor" menu command, pop up the "Watercolor" dialog box, in this dialog box, set the stroke detail to 14, dark intensity to 0, texture to 1, at this time the image has some watercolor effects.

4, execute the "image/adjustment/brightness/contrast" menu command, in the pop-up "brightness/Contrast" dialog box, set the brightness to 30, contrast to 8.

5, run the "Filter/texture/texture" menu command, in the "texture" dialog box set "highlight" to 2, the rest of the default Settings.

Tip: Since the paper used in watercolor painting is generally textured, in order to achieve a more realistic effect, textured filters are added here.

★ Oil painting effect ★

1. Same as the first step above, open an image file.

2, right-click the current "Background" layer under the Layers panel, select "Duplicate Layer" from the pop-up menu, duplicate a layer and name it "Layer 1", select this layer as the current layer.

3, execute the "Filter/other/High contrast retention" menu command, in the pop-up "High contrast retention" dialog box, set the radius to 8 pixels, and then click the "OK" button.

Tip: The high-contrast retention filter preserves edge details within a specified radius where there is a strong color shift in the image, while removing the rest of the color.

4, execute the "Filter/Art effect/Painting smear" menu command, in the pop-up "Painting Smear" dialog box, set to 5, sharpening level to 10, brush type to "Simple".

5, select "Background" as the current layer in the Layers panel, and then perform the "Paint Smudge" filter, the filter Settings are the same as in step 4.

6, select "Layer 1" as the current layer, then select the drop-down button at the top of the layers panel and select the layer blend mode as "Difference".

7. Right-click "Layer 1" in the layer panel, select "Copy Layer" from the pop-up menu, copy "Layer 2", execute the "Image/Adjustment/level" menu command, and set the color level to "15, 1.50, 205" in the pop-up "Level" dialog box.

8. Finally, execute the "Layer/Blend layer" menu command to combine several layers into one layer, and the oil painting is completed.

How's it going? Did you feel? Then try it quickly! Using similar methods you can also try to create other effects such as sketch, gouache, etc.

Brother: The first and second parts of "Silent Movement - Approaching Photoshop Effects" mainly talk about how to flexibly use Photoshop's built-in filters to create some text and image effects. In creative practice, many times we need to use a variety of filters, in addition to familiar with the characteristics of each filter, more importantly, to give full play to your imagination.
