Flexographic plates in the past had to be affixed to the plate cylinder after plate making before printing. There is a more advanced flexographic direct plate-making technology abroad, which can be directly plate-making on the sleeve, and then the sleeve plate can be printed on the plate drum, and the work efficiency is higher. This technique is called sleeve direct platemaking. The direct plate making method of sleeve can be divided into laser engraving and laser ablation.
1. Laser engraving sleeve technology, foreign countries have adopted the method of engraving flexible plate directly on the sleeve. In this way, the sleeve can play the role of ordinary sleeve, but also the plate. The pages made by the pre-press system can be directly output to the sleeve by the computer, eliminating the operation of exposure, washing, curing, and plate, which greatly improves the work efficiency. For example, Germany's PLOYWEST laser engraving sleeve technology can produce a plate with a combination of field and layered mesh, resulting in ultra-fine graphics.
2. Laser ablative sleeve technology, in packaging printed matter, often encounter some pattern design full plate repeated consistent, and can be cut down at will. And you can't see the joint at both ends. It is possible on a reel press, but it is difficult not to see the seams when printing on a single sheet. And the sleeve technology can solve this problem well, because in the sleeve printing plate, can use the CTP technology directly plate, easily solve the problem. The platemaking steps are as follows:
(1) In the hollow nickel or other metal roller coated with a layer of hot melt adhesive, to be dried, the cut sensitive resin to the metal roller, both ends of the piece. Vacuum is pumped from the inner core of the metal roll (there are many small pores on the surface of the roll), so that the photosensitive version is close to the surface of the metal roll. Then put into the oven heating, so that the plate and the adhesive layer of the surface of the metal roller fusion together, then take out cooling.
